Risk management tends to be underemphasized in an agile context. This session provides participants with hands-on ideas on how to address risks more explicitly in the agile way of working.
Scrum teams aim to deliver done features with quality built-in. Risks are addressed implicitly during refinement, realization, testing and the DoD. But, explicit risk mitigation has virtually faded away in the current agile state of the practice. Still, when risks are high, a more explicit risk strategy is required. This holds even more in compliance and regulated environments.
Participants will learn how different types of risk – we recognize four types – can be identified and then managed in agile way of work, without adding too much process: the risks are fed into the regular scrum process, with some additions from the Scaled Agile Framework. Sound risk visualisation is an important part of the approach.
The result: risk assessment and management become a natural part of Scrum activities and artefacts. Without extra process or documents. For auditors, the risk mitigation is traceable and auditable.
The approach has been developed in collaboration with experts from RABO, KPN, VGZ, Bol.com, Police NL and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. This story is highly praised by previous attendees. Attendees will be invited to subscribe to the full hands-on workshop, with a real live case.
