Position Summary
The Board Member responsible for Marketing & Communication plays a key role in shaping and promoting the visibility, reputation, and impact of ISACA Netherlands Chapter. This position ensures that the chapter’s activities, events, and thought leadership are effectively communicated to members, stakeholders, and the wider professional community. The role combines strategic marketing, digital communications, media relations, and sponsorship management to enhance member value and strengthen the chapter’s brand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Marketing & Branding
- Define and execute the chapter’s Marketing & Communication strategy in alignment with ISACA Global guidelines and ISACA NL’s strategic goals.
- Safeguard consistent use of ISACA branding and messaging across all communications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all marketing and communication activities.
2. Digital & Content Management
- Manage the chapter’s social media presence (LinkedIn, YouTube, ISACA Engage ..etc.): content planning, publishing, engagement, and analytics.
- Maintain and update the ISACA NL website, ensuring content is relevant, timely, and accessible.
- Develop and distribute the member newsletter, coordinating with other board members and committees for content.
- Monitor communication performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
3. Event & Sponsorship Marketing
- Design and implement marketing campaigns for flagship and recurring events:
- Risk Event
- Cyber Booked
- Square Tables, Round Tables, Trainings, and other initiatives
- Ensure sponsor visibility and benefits are delivered in line with agreements.
- Manage the Marketing Assistance Program from ISACA Global, including promotional give-aways and materials.
4. Media & External Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and industry press.
- Secure media partnerships to increase event and chapter visibility.
- Draft and coordinate press releases for key chapter announcements and events.
5. Internal Coordination & Governance
- Ensure effective communication and alignment between other board members responsible for Journal/Academic Relations, Trainings, Square Tables, Round Tables, and the Risk Event.
- Report regularly to the board on marketing performance, member engagement, and sponsor visibility.
- Ensure compliance with ISACA Global branding, member communication, and sponsorship policies.
- Manage and mentor volunteers supporting marketing and communication tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in a professional association, IT governance, or cybersecurity environment.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, newsletters, content management systems).
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English (Dutch proficiency strongly preferred).
- Ability to work collaboratively within a volunteer-driven board structure.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Affinity with ISACA’s mission and professional domains (IT audit, risk, governance, security, compliance).
- Must be a member of ISACA Netherlands.
- Must have a history of active volunteer work within ISACA Netherlands.
Time Commitment
- Active participation in monthly board meetings and key chapter events.
- Average of 6–10 hours per week, varying with event cycles.
- Willingness to represent the chapter at events, conferences, and in external communications.
Term of Office
- Appointed by the General Assembly of ISACA Netherlands Chapter.
- Standard term: 4 years, renewable upon member approval for up to 2 times.
