Fook Hwa Tan is a cybersecurity executive, board adviser, educator and writer with more than 20 years of experience helping organisations navigate risk, resilience, digital trust and responsible AI.

As Chief Quality Officer and internal CISO at Northwave Cybersecurity, he brings together security, privacy, quality, continuity, risk and compliance. He has also served as CISO across six sectors, giving him a broad perspective on how different organisations protect what matters most.

Fook Hwa is known for turning complex challenges into clear decisions and practical action. As a trainer for ISACA Netherlands, PECB and BSI, and author of the ten-volume Cyber Decisions: The Boardroom Briefing Series, he helps leaders and professionals become more capable—not more overwhelmed—when facing technological change.

As a member of the ISACA Netherlands Risk Event Committee, he is passionate about bringing people and perspectives together. His guiding conviction is simple: good governance is not paperwork; it is how organisations keep their promises—even under pressure.
