André has been active in many roles in that field since 2003: the technical, commercial and advisory roles have been covered extensively at KPN and Getronics. Since then, the organisational and advisory roles have been the main task in all subsequent assignments. For me, information security is primarily about people & processes that ensure optimal operation of the abundance of technology. Knowing and connecting the three worlds for effective security is the main challenge for an information security officer. He considers it of the utmost importance to work in such a way that information security and privacy are promoted and that, at the same time, the security measures do not impede the organisation. In doing so, he relies on the creativity and involvement of the ‘shop floor’ and ensures that they are optimally facilitated with attention, time and resources. André is a craftsman of approach, not a man of theoretical models and woolly texts but of practical methods and personal commitment. I have developed a completely unique approach that I apply successfully: the MMA. Besides his work, he was active for 10 years in the information security association PvIB for informative meetings and since 2013 he has been day chairman and discussion leader at the Security Congress.

Over the past 25 years, Marcel Knippen has founded and built several companies in technologically innovative sectors, such as cybersecurity (Onsight, Kahuna), geo-information (Planviewer), blockchain (EOS Amsterdam, Zaisan) and digital intelligence (Abibia, RiskStudio) His current company, Abibia, is developing RiskStudio, an application that serves as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) and provides access to up-to-date intelligence on companies, their supply chain and technology used.

Richard is Chief AI Officer at Fortanix and a Principal Investigator of generative AI risk within the NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC). Richard leads the development of AI security using Confidential Computing, quantum information security, and the use of AI systems within the context of national security.

Jan Smets is an IT Security and Privacy specialist with more than 15 years of experience at leading IT security companies in various domains: PKI, Crypto, Authentication, Key Management, Digital Signatures, GDPR, … Jan joined Entrust in 2023 to join the BeNeLux team and to implement a more localised approach and share his expertise.

Rob is a strategic SOC consultant, with over 15 years of security operations experience in many roles. From analyst, engineer and incident responder to SOC manager. Rob is also the creator of the SOC-CMM, a defacto global standard for measuring maturity and capability in security operations centres. Rob obtained his Bachelor of Computer Science at the HvA and a Master in Information Security from Luleå University of Technology in 2016. Rob has been nominated for the JBISA award and the (ISC)2 Information Security Leadership Award 2019, and is winner of the PvIB article of the year award for his work on the MaGMa use case framework.

Erik Rutkens studied business administration in Groningen. He is part-time practor digital secure equipment at Noorderpoort. Erik is founder/owner of Zerocopter and director/owner of Hacksclusive. He is also one of the initiators of Cyber Security Noord. Like Zerocopter and Hacksclusive, this initiative has the ambition to make the Netherlands and the world safer.

Edo is a professor of Data Science in Auditing at the University of Amsterdam. Before that, he was a partner in KPMG’s IT auditing and consulting practice. He co-founded KPMG’s corporate information security team and co-authored the first editions of the standard work “Information Security under Control”. At the UvA, he is programme director of the Executive MSc of Auditing Studies and involved in the creation of the Cybersecurity Academy
