AI and Cybercrime: Defending Against the Next Generation of Threats
In today’s rapidly transforming digital era, artificial intelligence stands as both a powerful driver of innovation and a formidable tool for cybercriminals. This engaging session explores the dual-edged impact of AI—revealing how it is redefining the cyber threat landscape and elevating the speed, scale, and sophistication of modern attacks.
Participants will gain insight into the evolving tactics of threat actors, including how AI-powered technologies are being weaponized for identity theft, phishing, and deepfake creation. Through real-world examples, the session will uncover the expanding dark web marketplace of AI-driven fraud tools and the mounting risks they pose to organizational resilience.
Attendees will leave with practical, actionable strategies to defend against these emerging threats—learning how to harness AI-enabled defenses and amplify human intelligence to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud effectively.
Gustavo Frega, ISACA
The Importance of Certification in Tech Fields and Its Impact
In this session, Gustavo will discuss the importance of continuous training and globally recognized certifications for building a robust and skilled tech workforce. The focus will be on the urgent need to integrate essential IT certifications, including the new ones from ISACA, into the academic curriculum. This integration is paramount because it ensures that students graduate with not just theoretical knowledge, but also validated, job-ready skills. This critical step transforms students into valid and compelling candidates, signaling to employers immediate proficiency and reduced onboarding time. This makes them highly desirable in a competitive job market.
