Guidelines for publishing your work

The Board of ISACA Netherlands Chapter offers ISACA members the opportunity to submit written works (articles, books, research reports) on ISACA-related subject matter topics for publication. The ISACA NL Chapter Review Board assesses the content of the submitted documents. After approval of the Review Board, we will post your work on our website. We can also pay attention to the publication in our newsletter and via our social media channels.

What’s in it for you?

Publishing your work through the channels of ISACA Netherlands Chapter has several advantages. Not only do our members become familiar with your work, you establish your name as an expert in our field. Moreover, it provides the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues and to exchange ideas. Finally, for publishing work, we can grant you CPE points.

Who may submit a work and what are relevant topics?

Members of ISACA NL Chapter can submit a work for review. The form of the work and the content may differ, as long as the work relates to the fields of IT Risk, Audit, Security, Privacy. It can be a single article, but it can also be a discussion of one or the manuscript of a book (in the latter case, provided you own the copyrights to the work). You can discuss or comment on a recent scientific study, or describe a case study, provided the content is of interest to ISACA members.

You are not allowed to sell or advertise work through our website and channels. If you have commercial interests in the dissemination of the work, we request that you report this when submitting the work. The Review Board is free to reject any work for this reason. Our goal is to share content work with our members and not to sell products or services (P.S. good content sells itself!).

Review process

After submitting your publication, you will receive e-mail acknowledgement. Your work is then read by two or more members of the Review Board. The peer review process takes approximately 1-3 weeks, depending on the length and complexity of the work. When the peer review process is complete, you will receive comments on the work and recommendations for publication. After that, we will publish your work.

The Review Board is free to reject a work for publication. The Review Board may also propose changes that are necessary before an entry can be published. An accepted work is usually published within 1 to 3 weeks of approval by the Review Board.

Changes to the work proposed by the Review Board are made by the author himself. The work may be edited with regard to spelling and grammar by the Review Board.

Author and copyright notice

We ask you to submit your own original work. Quotations should be clearly stated as such. For long quotes, it may be necessary to request permission from the copyright owners. If you refer to a work of which you are not the author, we request that the author be mentioned in the source list.

If you submit a work, you grant ISACA Netherlands Chapter a license to publish the work via our website, our newsletter and social media channels. You therefore guarantee that you own the copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the work. ISACA NL Chapter does not owe the author any fee for publication of the work. ISACA NL Chapter is not liable if, in the unlikely event, it turns out that the work is infringing on others’ copyrights or intellectual property rights.
