Eric Mantelaers

Dr. Eric Mantelaers is a Professor of Applied Sciences at the Future‑proof Auditor research group of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. He is also affiliated with the post‑initial Accountancy (RA) program at Maastricht University. At Erasmus University Rotterdam, he is responsible for the Financial Crime Professional executive program. In addition, Eric is active at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname, where he is involved in the Chartered Controller (RC) program.

Eric obtained his PhD on the topic of Audit Technology and Audit Quality, which continues to be a central theme in his research agenda. His work focuses on the impact of digitalization, financial crime, data‑driven methods, and technological innovations, including automation and AI, on audit quality. Eric is also a partner at RSM Accountants.
