We are delighted to be organising this year’s Security Congress for the 20th time and on 9 October 2024 at Gooiland Events in Hilversum.

Theme: ‘Expect the unexpected’

It seems easy to improve cybersecurity measures every year as an organisation as part of an ISMS, with ISO, NIST and CIS as the basis, the theory tells us.

But are we then taking into account real developments, and are cybersecurity measures improving fast enough? Consider questions raised by quantum computing, such as what encryption and keys actually exist in the organisation.

In addition, NIS2 and DORA seem straightforward when it comes to managing third-party security, but what problems do you really encounter when operationalising third-party risk management?

In other words, what unexpected cybersecurity problems really come your way?

Participation in the event entitles you to 5 CPE points.

Speakers

André Beerten
Day chairman

André Beerten

Day chairman

André has been active in many roles in that field since 2003: the technical, commercial and advisory roles have been covered extensively at KPN and Getronics. Since then, the organisational and advisory roles have been the main task in all subsequent assignments. For me, information security is primarily about people & processes that ensure optimal operation of the abundance of technology. Knowing and connecting the three worlds for effective security is the main challenge for an information security officer. He considers it of the utmost importance to work in such a way that information security and privacy are promoted and that, at the same time, the security measures do not impede the organisation. In doing so, he relies on the creativity and involvement of the ‘shop floor’ and ensures that they are optimally facilitated with attention, time and resources. André is a craftsman of approach, not a man of theoretical models and woolly texts but of practical methods and personal commitment. I have developed a completely unique approach that I apply successfully: the MMA. Besides his work, he was active for 10 years in the information security association PvIB for informative meetings and since 2013 he has been day chairman and discussion leader at the Security Congress.
