Taken from BlogRolling Meadows, IL, USA (26 April 2011)—Business leaders need a better way to understand how future directions in technology can make them more competitive and closer to their customers without compromising security and privacy. To address this need, ISACA, a global association of 95,000 business and IT professionals, will host the World Congress: INSIGHTS 2011 conference 27-29 June at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, near Washington DC.

Executives at this inaugural leadership event will discuss emerging technologies in the context of business value and compliance. Senior-level government officials and executives from Fortune 500 companies will share expertise in an engaging format of in-depth interviews, interactive sessions and roundtables.

“Business leaders now recognize that technology is core to driving enterprise value, but they don’t always know how to integrate IT with business or manage emerging trends such as cybersecurity and cloud initiatives,” said Robert E. Stroud, CGEIT, chair of ISACA’s World Congress Development Task Force and CA Technologies vice president and evangelist for IT service management, cloud computing and governance. “ISACA designed this first-ever World Congress event specifically to address an unmet need that we hear repeatedly—the need for strategic advice on how to integrate business with IT and address complex new issues, with a goal of driving better business performance.”

VP-level speakers at World Congress: INSIGHTS 2011 come from a range of companies including Bank of America, Capital One, CA Technologies, Dow Chemical Company, IBM, Microsoft, United Airlines and Verizon Communications. Experts from the public sector include The Honorable Theresa Grafenstine, Inspector General of the US House of Representatives; former federal Trade Commissioner Pamela Jones Harbour; and former US Secretary of Commerce The Honorable Barbara Hackman Franklin.

World Congress: INSIGHTS 2011 will also bring C-level panelists from the audit, IT and security realms together to discuss leadership challenges from the increasingly important perspective of compliance, privacy and security. Panelists include:

  •  Bhavesh Bhagat, CEO, EnCrisp

  • Robert Kueppers, deputy CEO Regulatory and Public Policy and vice chairman, Deloitte LLP
  • Tim Rains, director of Product Management Trustworthy Computing, Microsoft

The event will kick off with Afterburner, a team of fighter pilots who will help attendees learn how to achieve flawless execution of IT and business plans. Bob Treadway, futurist and strategy advisor, will highlight key messages derived from each day’s sessions and provide practical guidance on how attendees can be better prepared for what the future holds for global business.
